Friends of the Berwyn Library
Who are the FRIENDS and what do they do?
The Friends of the Berwyn Library are people just like you who enjoy the library and support its programs and services in a variety of ways, much like parents support schools through PTO's.
The Friends exist to raise money exclusively for library programs, materials, special equipment and services, and to promote the library in the community. They generate financial support through fundraising events and membership dues. The organization is led by a volunteer board of officers and maintains a close relationship with the library. The Library Liaison to the Friends, Becky Spratford, can be reached at 708-795-8000 ext. 3096.
The Friends primary fundraiser is the ongoing book sale held in the first floor elevator lobby of the library. Donations from the community are accepted throughout the year to stock the sale. We accept gently used hardcover and paperback books, CDs, DVDs and videos for adults and children. We do not accept magazines, encyclopedias or textbooks.
The Friends have four meetings per year and host programs. These programs complement the library's mission to support literacy and lifelong learning.
If you want more information about the Friends please call Becky Spratford in Readers' Advisory, 708-795-8000 ext. 3096 or email Friends@berwynlibrary.org
