"Critics are by no means the end of the law. Do not think all is over with you because you articles are rejected. It may be that the editor has his drawer full, or that he does not know enough to appreciate you, or you have not gained a reputation, or he is not in a mood to be pleased. A critic's judgment is like that of any intelligent person. If he has experience, he is capable of judging whether a book will sell. That is all."

—Lavina Goodell Junior editor, Harper's Bazaar

Is the library better the second time around?  I worked at the 34th Street branch in the Children's Department for five years, and then left for a job in the "real world."  I really enjoy working in the Readers' Advisory Department.  I find that helping people locate the books they want is very fulfilling.

I am at the RA desk all day Monday and Friday and Wednesday evenings.  You will find me working in Outreach Services the rest of the week.  If you're tired of searching for the latest book by your favorite author, sign-up for Holds Without Hassle and I will automatically place the holds for you!

You may remember me from the Youth Services and Circulation Departments. I worked in each of them before joining the Readers' Advisory Staff. I design and build all the displays for RA and can be found at the service desk most afternoons and evenings.

Looking for me?  You can almost always find me at the public desk; answering questions, talking about books, ordering books, working on the Browser's Corner and all sorts of other good things.  I also run the Wednesday night book club.

I am happy to help you find the right book for your mood every Monday at the RA desk.  I order new books, compile display lists, run the Monday afternoon book club, and create Book Discussion Kits.  RA enthusiasts should peruse my blog, RA for All.
