Louisa May Alcott: The 150th Anniversary of Little Women

In 2018, Little Women turns 150 years old. Mark the occasion with this newly revised living-history portrayal of beloved author Louisa May Alcott by award-winning actress Leslie Goddard. As Miss Alcott shares stories about the creation of Little Women, she also reminisces about her life, including her poverty-stricken childhood, her struggles to succeed as a writer, and the unexpected, phenomenal success of Little Women in 1868.​

Resume and Cover Letter Consultations

Representatives from The Goodwill Workforce Connection Center will be onsite conducting one-on-one consultations to give you personalized feedback on your resume and cover letters. You will have the opportunity to learn how to craft a solid and effective resume or improve upon your existing resumes with tips and advice from experienced resume consultants. Note: Please bring a list of current and previous employers with dates of employment. Basic Technology Skills

Work on the computer skills you need to develop with an instructor present to answer questions as needed. Learn to use the smartphone or tablet you recently acquired. Practice using the mouse or typing; search the internet; set-up or use email or Facebook; work on projects using Microsoft Office 2010 products. Sessions are drop-in, on a first-come first seated basis. Seating is limited, and we encourage you to attend only once a week in order to allow time for others. Participants are welcome to bring a laptop or tablet from home, in order to practice on their own device.

Basic Reading and Writing Group

This class is taught by a Project CARE tutor and registration is required. Please call 708-656-8000 ext. 2383 to register and for more information. This free class will help you improve your reading skills, build vocabulary and strengthen your writing skills.
