Document Actions

We are located in the Reference Department on the lower level, and we offer access to newspapers and magazines.

Resources Available

The Periodicals Department carries approximately 230 displayed periodical titles. Although our current issues do not circulate, our back issues are available to check out for three weeks. Be sure to check our periodical list and ask for any magazines you do not see displayed. Many issues are stored in our back workroom area.

Newspapers are also displayed, with 50 titles in the Periodicals Department. The business titles displayed are: Advertising Age, Barron’s, Crain’s Chicago Business, Investor’s Business Daily, and Wall Street Journal.

Our daily issues include: Chicago Sun Times, Chicago Tribune, Red Eye, New York Times, Southtown Star and USA Today.

Ethnic papers include: Draugas, Dziennik Zwiazkowy, Fra Noi, Greek Star, Hlas Naroda, and Narod Polski.

Hispanic Collection

Our Hispanic magazine collection consists of sixteen titles which include the following: Americas, Casa & Estilo, Cosmopolitan, Estylo, Glamour, Hispanic, Hispanic Business, Hispanic Lifestyle, Hispanic Outlook, Latina, Latina Style, Men’s Health, People, Popular Mechanics, Reader’s Digest Selecciones, and Vanidades. The newspapers include DIA, Hoy, La Raza, Lawndale News, and Reflejos.

Senior Social Club

The Senior Social Club meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the Berwyn Public Library community room located at 2701 S. Harlem Avenue. Seniors 55+ are welcome to attend and enjoy games, puzzles, cards or just time to socialize. If you have a favorite game, bring it along to share with other seniors. The program is open to all communities and no registration is required. Refreshments are served. Remember to bring a friend or two and pass the word along—it’s the best way to promote the fun. Friday Morning Coffee
