Computer Tutoring

Work on the computer skills you need to develop with an instructor present to answer questions as needed. Practice using the mouse or typing; search the internet; set-up or use email or Facebook; work on projects using Microsoft Office 2010 products.
Sessions are drop-in, on a first-come first seated basis. Seating is limited, and we encourage you to attend only once a week in order to allow time for others.
Participants are welcome to bring a laptop or tablet from home, in order to practice on their own device.

Dogs 101

March 23rd, 2016,
7:00pm to 8:30pm
This family-centered program for current dog owners, prospective dog owners, and dog lovers focuses on aspects of dog ownership, canine care, and training. Learn about different dog breeds and their typical behaviors, where/how to get a puppy or dog, and how to care for a canine companion. Become familiar with how a dog communicates. A demonstration with a canine guest to illustrate positive reinforcement training tips is included in this program.

What Cats Want You to Know

Celebrate national Adopt-a-Cat month in June with cat owners, cat lovers, and presenter Jennifer Vlazny, Shelter Operations Manager at Hinsdale Humane Society for 26 years. This is a PURR-fect program to learn about feline-related topics such as: kitten/cat care, how cats communicate, indoor vs. outdoor living, whether or not to declaw, multi-cat households, and feline health issues. A special furry guest will attend this family-centered program as a feline ambassador for Adopt-a-Cat month.
