Learning Lab

After taking pre-tests to determine which subjects need improvement, students study for the GED test using a personalized learning plan. Some topics are studied as a group, while others topics may be studied one-to-one with a tutor, or studied independently using suggested materials. Students may use a library card to check out study books. When students are ready, they can take a sample full-length test which will let them know if they are truly ready to pass the GED. Please note: this group does not meet in the months of July and December due to seasonal low attendance.

Work on the computer skills you need to develop with an instructor present to answer questions as needed. Practice using the mouse or typing; search the internet; set-up or use email or Facebook; work on projects using Microsoft Office 2010 products.
Sessions are drop-in, on a first-come first seated basis. Seating is limited, and participants are encouraged to attend only once a week in order to allow time for others.
Participants are welcome and encouraged to bring a laptop from home, in order to practice on their own computer.

Learn and review basic math concepts including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, percents, basic algebra, basic geometry, measurement, graphs/charts, and word problems. The topics covered in this study group are represented on most standardized tests such as the TABE, GED, SAT/ACT, COMPASS, Accuplacer, ASVAB, GRE, and the GMAT. Berwyn residents receive priority registration in this drop-in group. Adults 18 and older.
